Fixed Wire Testing Electrician

Alderminster are looking to recruit a fixed wire testing electrician to add to our strong team across the Warwickshire and Cotswolds areas.We are seeking a fully qualified, time served Electrician                                                                                                                                                                                       with a sound knowledge/understanding of 18thedition to join our expanding team.

The Role:

  • Carry out Periodic Inspections of client’s electrical installations in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies (e.g. NICEIC)
  • Perform other electrical tests and inspections and produce the appropriate industry recognised reports (e.g. Emergency Light testing, Fixed Appliance testing)
  • Carry out electrical rectification / remedial repairs and produce the appropriate documentation in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Carry out installation work as required
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at all times
  • Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations and best practice within the electrical industry

Essential Requirements:

  • 18th Edition
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Testing & Inspection
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings and schematics
  • Punctual, reliable and flexible
  • Asbestos Awareness

Desirable Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must have the dedication to keep up to date with current legislation and undertake any training as required
  • Preferably experienced and trained in a similar business
  • A proven ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and safety legislation
  • Relevant computer literacy to enable production and electronic submission of reports
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive mindset and flexible can-do attitude. Able to work alone and as part of a team

  • IPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (desirable but not essential)
  • PASMA Tower certificate of competence (desirable but not essential)
