Does an EICR test appliances and portable equipment?

No. An EICR assesses the fixed electrical installation, including wiring, sockets, switches and the consumer unit, but it doesn’t test appliances or portable equipment. Appliances such as kettles, fridges and extension leads need separate portable appliance testing (PAT) where appropriate.
