An electrical fault, an ageing consumer unit or an EICR requirement can all create uncertainty about what needs doing. We inspect the installation, explain the fault in plain terms and recommend only the work needed to make it safe and compliant. That may mean a repair, additional circuits, a consumer unit replacement or a complete rewire for an older property.

If an older boiler is becoming unreliable, we assess the heating system rather than simply replacing the appliance. We check the radiators, pipework, controls, flue and hot water demand before quoting. Gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, while oil-fired systems are covered by OFTEC registration. This matters for rural homes that rely on oil or LPG rather than mains gas.

Heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage need a proper appraisal before anyone recommends equipment. We look at insulation, heat loss, radiator sizes, roof space, electrical capacity and the way the property is used. That includes solid-wall homes, barn conversions and listed buildings, where noise, pipe routes, planning and disruption need careful thought. If a system is unlikely to suit the property, we’ll explain why.

Our MCS-certified renewable installers can prepare the paperwork needed for a Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant application where the property and installation qualify. MCS certification also makes an eligible solar or battery installation suitable for the Smart Export Guarantee. We work out the likely running costs and value for the individual property rather than relying on headline savings.
